Headset connection to PS3

Sound plays an important role for gamers, so it is important to properly connect, adjust headphones and microphone in order to isolate external noises and immerse yourself in the passage of your favorite game. Of course, you can play without a headset, outputting the sound simply through the television speakers or through a connected stereo system, however, as they say, this is a big difference. Headsets are divided into two types: wired and wireless. It is logical that the connection features for different types are different. So, let's look at how to connect headphones to the PS3.

Using wired headsets

Wired devices involve connecting headphones to the PS3 directly through a cable with a USB input. During the game, you can enjoy high-quality sound through headphones - it remains only to perform the connection and configuration.

Kingston HyperX Cloud Headphones

In order to connect such a headset, you must perform the following steps:

  • Turn on our Sony PlayStation
  • Attach the wired headset to any of the USB outputs on the front panel of the game console.
  • Using the manipulator, we find the console in the Sony PlayStation 3 "Settings" system.
  • Next, look for the function "Setting accessories."
  • Select the item "Audio Device Parameters".
  • Open the option "Output Device" and specify the model of our audio system.
  • Then open the option "Input Device" and in the same way as in the previous paragraph, we indicate the model of our wired headphones.

Use of wireless accessories

Wireless accessories require a Bluetooth connection. With this method of connection, the sound quality is in no way different from connecting with a USB cable.

PS4 Wireless Stereo Headset Headphones

To connect these headphones to the console, you need to perform the following operations:

  • Turn on our Sony PlayStation Console
  • We are looking for system settings and open the menu. All navigation is carried out by the game manipulator.
  • Find the option "Setting accessories."
  • Select the item "Management bluetooth devices."
  • Open the menu "Register Bluetooth device".
  • When asked if we want to register a new Bluetooth accessory for pairing with the Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console, we answer "Yes".
  • Turn on the headset and make all the necessary preparations in accordance with the instructions for use to attach to the console. You may need to press the touch button on the headset and hold for a while to turn on Bluetooth.
  • If all preparations are completed and the audio device is ready for synchronization, look for the “Start scan” function. Now the Sony PlayStation 3 system independently searches for devices in a certain radius with Bluetooth turned on.
  • We choose our model from the list of found Bluetooth devices that are ready for synchronization. In an empty window, enter the PIN of four characters for wireless accessories. The combination of characters for entering the PIN can be found in the user manual or by contacting the developer service. As a rule, the PIN is the same for each model by default, so you can try to find it on the Internet. In order not to fool around, you can try the standard combination 0000 or 1234.
  • Synchronization was successful. Now our headphones will be displayed in the list of connected devices to the PlayStation.
  • We return to the previous menu "Accessory Settings".
  • Find the function "parameters of the audio device."
  • Go to the option "Output devices" and specify the name of our Bluetooth headset.
  • By the same principle, open the option "Input Device" and also choose our audio system from the list.
  • Voila! Connection and configuration completed. Now you can enjoy a full-fledged gameplay with high-quality sound headphones and microphone.

Recommendations

It is important to pay attention to device compatibility. It may happen that after purchasing an accessory and fulfilling all the necessary conditions, even if the audio system is connected with a cable, your device will not be able to connect to the game console, since it is simply incompatible with this model. We advise you to purchase only proven headsets and any other additional devices that have a special certificate. Ideally, to avoid potential problems, buy Sony branded headsets. To find out if your audio model can be paired with the PS3, contact the accessory developer directly.
