Charging "asleep" phone batteries

If the loss of capacity below the permissible level of the phone battery falls into a state called deep discharge. And then the controller, which monitors its parameters, disconnects the battery and makes further operation impossible. How to charge a fully discharged phone battery, thereby breathing new life into it? To do this, there are several ways to make a "push."

It is possible to “revive” a completely discharged battery.

We use the power supply

First, we consider a method that uses a twelve-volt power supply and a resistor of about 500 Ohms with a power of 50 mW or more. To push, you need to close the battery with the unit for two or three minutes, connecting the minus of the device to the minus of the unit, and the plus, respectively, to the plus, but through a resistor (!).

The supplied voltage must be controlled. Use a tester or a voltmeter for this purpose. And the polarity of resistance is checked before connecting with a multimeter. Plus, you need to take into account that the parameters of the current itself match the required ones.

“Battery start by fan”

IMPORTANT. A quickly occurring discharge of the device may indicate a high (increased) internal resistance - it is no longer suitable for operation.

Charging "frog"

A very common device for charging a variety of devices is a frog. Including it can be charged and phone batteries. In use, it is simple and convenient, working from a conventional power supply network.

Structurally, it is a small box, on the one hand having a plug for the socket, and on the other - a clip that provides contact with the device being charged. This clip is designed so that thanks to the movable terminals practically any Akum can be charged in it.

However, not everyone is able to deal with the operation of the device. After all, the Chinese have not yet switched to Cyrillic in the instructions.

Purpose of the indicator buttons:

  • TEST - the button that starts the test to check the polarity of the battery;
  • CON (Confirm) - indicator for assessing the polarity of the battery connection;
  • PW - availability of power supply;
  • CH - captures the charging process;
  • FULL - full charge;
  • CONVERSION - button to switch the polarity of the contacts.
  1. Description of use:

    Installing the battery in the clip combine the frog contacts with the contacts of the battery.

  2. If the match is correct, the PW button will light up. If the indicator does not light up, then you need to press the CONVERSION button, which will change the polarity.
  3. Only after proper connection can you connect the charger to the outlet.
ATTENTION. When Akum is very deeply discharged, the PW indication does not always light up. Then to test the correctness you need to use the TEST key. If when it is pressed, CON is highlighted, then the polarity is correct, if not, then the polarity must be changed using the CONVERSION key.

Then the illuminated CH indicator will indicate current flow. After some time, with a gradual accumulation of charge, the CH will flash. And when your device is fully charged, the CH lamp goes out and the FULL indicator lights up.

IMPORTANT. Different modifications of devices frogs may slightly differ in the number of indicator buttons, but not significantly.

Use of charge-discharge devices

With this method of push, you first need to turn off the protection system - this is the controller that turned off our power supply device. It needs to be unsoldered.

Then the battery (already without a controller) is connected to a charging / discharging device, in this case to the Turnigy Accucell 6. It performs the function of tracking the parameters of the proceeding recovery charging process. Use the "TYPE" button to select a charge program.

The selection of charge parameters for various types of batteries is carried out with a few keystrokes of the “START” key. In addition, you need to determine and set the value for the flowing current. The choice of the value is typed with the “+” and “-” buttons. And the figure itself is calculated as ten percent of the nominal capacity.

When the maximum capacitance value is reached, a mode change occurs - the process will switch to the “voltage stabilization” mode. About the end of the charging will beep. And on the monitor will be the message "FULL".

Preheating

The operation of a lithium-ion battery is based on the internal movement of lithium ions. When a fully charged Akum is in a hot environment (in the heat), it gets an extra charge. There is a phenomenon of overcharging. This is due to the fact that lithium ions inside the battery receive additional energy from heat (similar to boiling water molecules).

Conversely, when a battery is placed in the cold, part of its energy is lost due to a decrease in the energy mobility of the ions. Given these phenomena, a rather ingenious, but based on quite reasonable soil, method of removing a battery from a deep discharge at home appears. Its essence is that the "asleep" battery needs to be heated. Then her ions, having received additional internal energy, will bring readings from the terminals to a higher level.

However, you need to consider:

  • The degree of heating should correspond to the initial degree of the remaining battery charge (that is, the deeper the discharge, the greater the heating);
  • Heating should not be intense;
  • Do not use open fire or heat;
  • The battery should heat up all at once, not in parts (sides).

Slow return to life

When the charger is connected, the phone comes to life first, and then instantly turns off and there is no visibility of the charging process. - This is not to say that the process itself is not going on. Just the device itself has not yet gained the necessary power to display (display) the process on the monitor. Charging itself at the initial stage (with a deep discharge) can go very, very slowly - from several hours to several days. The charge rate increases gradually - the higher the capacity on the battery becomes, the more the process accelerates.

Safety

Before pushing the phone battery, always remember about safety and responsibility for your actions. Before blindly trusting unverified data posted on sites, consult with knowledgeable people.

Remember these simple but important rules:

  • When swelling the battery, do not get rid of gases, and immediately throw it away. Revitalizing the battery by dumping gases is simply excluded!
  • Do not leave a problem or repaired device without proper supervision.
  • When carrying out repairs, control its temperature. Use for this thermocouple, a special thermometer. Stop work immediately if the surface is very hot.
  • When charging, do not use currents above 50 mAh. Determine the current strength calculated by.

Now you know how to charge a fully discharged phone battery and you can do it yourself. But do not overdo it in self-esteem. Once again, consult with professionals.
