How to configure and flash D-Link DIR-100 router

  • Set a static IP address in the router settings to make this process possible.
  • Go to the Advanced menu, Port Forwarding tab.
  • Fill in the fields of one of the forms - in the line with the name, enter an arbitrary name, below enter the IP of the computer that is assigned the port. Next, fill in the data of the port range and select the type of traffic - tcp, udp (if you need both - the any option).
  • Mark the completed form with a check mark to make it work, then save the changes.

Change password to enter settings

During the initial installation of a Wi-Fi router, it is better to change the login and access password not only to the network, but also to the hardware parameters themselves. This is to prevent third-party users from hacking and changing network access settings. This procedure is done like this:

  • In the top menu bar, select the Maintenance section.
  • On the left, open the Device Administration tab.
  • In the "Administrator" section you can change the login and password to access the settings at your discretion.

Installing firmware for D-Link DIR-100

Re-flashing may be necessary for various reasons, but in any case, this process should be considered carefully, because an incorrect installation of the software will make the router inoperative.

How is the firmware update for the router? To implement it, follow these guidelines:

  • Find and download the latest firmware version for your model from the Internet. To find out the exact version of the required file, you need information about the hardware version of the router - you will see it on the back of its body immediately under the MAC ID.
  • After downloading the firmware, go to the device settings by entering your IP address in the browser line.
  • In the configuration menu, select the Maintenance section.
