Bypassing the telegram lock

For its short existence, Telegrams managed to gain not only many fans, but also enemies in the face of competing applications, mobile operators and, finally, Roskomnadzor. In short, many who want to step on its throat to its creator, and the more the instant messenger is in demand in Russia, the higher the probability of its ban. Rumors about Pavel Durov’s problems with the law and about the possible blocking of “Telegrams” have been around for a long time.

Using a proxy server, you can bypass the Telegram lock.

The application was not originally focused on the Russian consumer, which is why Durov has not been in a hurry with russification for so long without counting on his success in Russia. But the number of fans of the messenger is constantly growing, many do business with it, while others simply communicate and spend their leisure time. Convenient interface and rich functionality every day attract new users. In the meantime, the probability that Roskomnadzor will block the application on the territory of the country is growing, for which the authorities have good reasons.

Why do Telegram want to block

After anonymity was banned in Russia on the Internet, a serious threat of blocking loomed over the application. According to the draft law, initiated by State Duma deputies, all instant messengers and other information exchange services should share information about themselves, as well as their users, with the special services of the Russian Federation. Pavel Durov did not agree with the innovations, as Telegram positions itself as an application providing maximum privacy for all account holders.

The thing is that all messages in the "Telegram" are encrypted with a special protocol that allows you to correspond without fear of invasion of third parties. In addition, the application provides the ability to use the function of secret chats, the information from which is stored exclusively on the devices of the interlocutors, bypassing the server, as a result of which hacking the correspondence becomes unrealistic.

Representatives of the Russian supervisory and security agencies also fail to get access to the personal messages of Telegram users, so there was a lot of noise around the Durov application with threats of blockages for non-compliance with the law on anonymity on the Internet. Because of this increased secrecy of correspondence, the authorities believe that the terrorists can take advantage of the messenger. At the heart of the ban application is to ensure the safety of citizens, at least, so they will tell all of us when they block Telegrams.

How to bypass the lock "Telegram"

At the first stage, the application files will be deleted from the App Store and Google Play, then you will have to use an account from another region, so you should not delete the client from the device now. Probably, further IP addresses will be blocked, but in this case there is a possibility to bypass application access restrictions using VPN and proxy servers. A modern user will always find ways to correct the situation, especially if they blocked their favorite service. At the moment, solutions to the problem are already ready, and supporters of private communication know what to do if the application is banned, how to avoid obstacles to access. If the authorities nevertheless decide to move from threats to action, there is already an instruction on how to bypass the “Telegram” lock.

TIP. In this case, the SOCKS5 network protocol will help us, allowing for inconspicuous sending of data packets through a proxy server, using services behind firewalls. The developers have already included its support in the Telegram for Windows and macOS, foreseeing the likelihood of blocking. Starting with the updated version 4.1, this option is also available for phones.

It would be better to prepare in advance for possible restrictions on access to your account, so let's return to the main question, how to bypass the “Telegram” block. So, to activate SOCKS5, you must do the following:

  • go to the action menu and find the Advanced Settings option there;

  • here change the connection setting to “TCP with custom socks5-proxy” (TCP with non-standard socks5-proxy);

  • write the address of the foreign proxy, as well as the port. You can use the German, English or other servers for SOCKS5 of any country, allowing the use of the messenger;
  • then select “Try connecting through IPv6” (use IPv6 connection), agree with the changes.

In the mobile version of the application for Android devices in the settings, simply go to Data and Storage, then select Proxy Settings and switch.

After the manipulations made, the “Telegrams” will be connected through the proxy server of your choice. Using the instructions, you can easily maintain access to your account after the application is banned in Russia. Technically, the authorities can block access in different ways, or even all at the same time, in addition, the State Duma adopted another law prohibiting the bypass of blocking. The fact that the existence of Telegrams will come to an absolute end in Russia is still not a fact, but judging by the hype around the messenger, it is not necessary to exclude the possibility of a ban.

Durov still refuses to cooperate with representatives of the law, giving out personal information of users, therefore Roskomnadzor will again and again threaten with blockages, and it is likely that it will carry out its plans. We can only prepare for possible difficulties with access to the application.
