Tuning satellite antenna tuner

Satellite television is a great alternative to traditional wired signal transmission channels. Reception of TV channels directly depends on the operation of the tuner - a special radio receiver. Its purpose is direct processing of the television signal.

You can tune the satellite antenna tuner yourself.

The cost of the basic kit for tele-low is low, it can be compared with the price of a simple home phone. Digital technologies in working with television have become more accessible, and working with them does not involve as many problems as before. Only a properly tuned tuner configuration can satisfy the needs of a demanding user.

Receiver selection

First you need to decide which device you are working with. Almost any modern TV contains in the design of a TV tuner. At the same time, external tuners are aimed at satellite signal reception and operate in other frequency bands. Their purchase is justified if you want to independently take on a wider range of channels on TV.

You can start tuning the tuner for a variety of reasons. It may be:

  1. Buying a new tuner.
  2. Bad firmware work.
  3. Aging device.
  4. Failure caused by the outside.
IMPORTANT. As a rule, in these cases you will see a warning about the absence of a signal.

Features receivers are determined by the categories to which they relate. Satellite tuners can be divided into categories depending on the cost. It is their cost that determines the presence of additional functions:

  1. Category Free-to-Air. These are the most inexpensive devices. They are used with antennas that receive free channels. They can be distinguished by the manufacturer and the number of memorized channels.

  2. Devices with card readers. Include a special port for payment card channels.
  3. Devices with built-in HDD. The presence of a hard disk allows you to record broadcast signals from the antenna. You can update the firmware of such devices from a PC.
  4. HDTV receivers. Receivers for high-definition television and satellite communications. Differ in high cost.

  5. Other types. For example, devices with two tuners and a hard disk.

Receiver setup

Connection

Before self-tuning any tuner, make sure that it is connected to a satellite dish and all other connected devices. Next, connect the device to the TV. The last device you need to connect to the power of 220 V with an outlet.

Each such device has a maximum of possible peripheral connectors. Modern methods involve the use of HDMI. And you can also use scart, tulips, output for a standard antenna.

TIP. If you use only the antenna cable, please note that the "mother" connector should be connected to the tuner, and the "dad" - to the TV. The device instructions in the photo shows the type of connectors. When the receiver is connected, determine the choice of channel that will be convenient for you. Select "Search" in arbitrary mode. The receiver must be turned on. Make sure that the number on its screen is lit.

After that, the satellite tuner interface becomes available. You can enter it using the tuner itself.

Menu operation

The approximate menu view is reduced to the list of items: “Setup”, “Antenna”, “Search for channels”. You need to find in the configuration options such as LNB, DISEqC, “0 / 12V”, “Tone flash”, “Positioner”. Be sure to check the following points:

  1. Is there a signal exchange with the right satellite?
  2. Find out if the satellite head settings are well defined:
  • for C-Band (LNB, frequency 5150).
  • for a circular head - circular LNB 10750.
  • for linear ... - universal 9750/10600.

As a rule, such information is in the notes of the satellite head instruction. After that, find the menu and set the DISEqC for the desired satellite. You better remember or write down which outputs correspond to a particular antenna.

And also pay attention to other settings:

  1. Diske port - has several inputs that switch to connect satellite heads to them.

  2. LNB power is the technical name of the satellite head. It is used to control the power of the satellite head or Diske standard devices.
  3. 0 / 12V - used to switch the power of two devices (mono suspension, Disek).

How to add a channel

Scan the transmitter on the desired satellite in the receiver.

To determine the transponder settings, determine and view the channel for satellite broadcasting. View the settings in the transponder list.

To install:

  • Go to the list of settings for the CIS / Russia.
  • Select satellites Yamal, Amos, Sirius, Hotbird, ABS1.
  • If the list does not contain the channels you need, in the Internet search enter:

Lingsat 5e or 4w, 75e, 53e, 40e

The information you need will be present in the list of satellite parameters.

Transponder scan

Data that comes from transponders is needed to receive data from TV channels. It is necessary to scan the signal from the transponders so that the list of necessary channels becomes relevant. You can find transponder options in the same place as its selection menu.

Search strings on the properties of TV channels and radio indicate the search method:

  1. Select the type of channels.

Here channels are selected by type of broadcast, for example:

  • TV Only - only television;
  • or TV and Radio - for TV and Radio.
  1. Search method.

Channel options by encryption type - for example, All - search for all channels, including decoded or closed ones. Or Free to Air - only non-coded channels.

  1. Variety of search:
  • Find transponder.
  • Network search - a network of transponders for an individual satellite.
  • Search for satellite channels. A string whose conditions depend on the type of suspension selected. Here you can choose a moto antenna or a satellite dish. If a catcher with a motor suspension is chosen based on the USALS principle, the receiver will be able to move the antenna if a position is assigned to them.

Connecting a stereo type tuner

A stereo type tuner is in most cases a device that supports stereo sound on the output device. It is most often used with a cable with three pins. The first is responsible for the video, the second and third - for the left and right channels of the sound L and R.

ATTENTION. Stereo-enabled tuners are the bulk of the device at the moment. Stereo sound can come in one channel, for example, on the right - this is a TV program accompaniment, and on the left - an arbitrary radio station.

In order to prevent sound overlays themselves, satellite receivers support a special function. It is implemented as a separate button or function in the Menu. The button itself is often called Audio. It allows you to fine-tune the configuration of audio channels.
