How to fix problems with installing CorelDraw

Not always necessary software, especially on Windows, immediately installed without problems on a computer. The same can be said about Corel, with whom some users have problems. Next, we will look at the root causes and decide what to do if CorelDraw is not installed.

What to do if CorelDraw is not installed?

The reasons

There can be several reasons for the program to be capricious during installation.

  • incorrect removal of the previous version;
  • the presence on the PC of the components that are contained in the installer;
  • system crashes and malware.

What to do in the latter case, you probably know. Run antivirus and perform a full scan. However, most did not come here for this banal advice. What to do if CorelDraw does not want to be installed for more serious reasons?

Correct deletion

To install the correct version of Corel, you must completely clean the computer from the old one. It is not always easy to do this. But for this very reason many people cannot then put a fresh product on the computer. During installation, the following messages may be displayed: "The specified product cannot be installed because another version is already installed."

How to delete?

  1. In the Windows system there is a special utility Clean Up. If you did not find it, you should download it on the Internet from the official Windows site.
  2. Run Clean Up.

  3. Then open the list with the list of installed programs.
  4. Select there CorelDraw and click Remove, that is, "Delete".
  5. Reboot the computer.

After that, the application will get rid of annoying software.

Registry cleaning

It does not always help. And if it helps, sometimes another, more serious operation is required. The registry could remain the keys to the program that does not allow the installer to perform their work. We must remove them. Do it yourself better for experienced users, as well as creating backup copies of the system and registry.

Click Win + R. In the opened line “Run” type regedit and press “Enter”. Now in the registry we look for the following keys for 64-bit versions and delete them:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \ COREL \ CorelDRAW \ 15.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Wow6432Node \ Corel \ Setup \ CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 15

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Wow6432Node \ Corel \ PCU \ 540215253

For 32-bit systems, we focus on finding such keys and also delete:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ COREL \ CorelDRAW \ 15.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Corel \ Setup \ CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 15

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Corel \ PCU \ Licenses \ 540215253

And a key that matches in both cases:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Corel \ CorelDRAW \ 15.0

Reboot the PC. After that, the system should say the final “Bye” Korel.

If the program has never been installed

Problems arise in those cases, even if Corel Dro never stood on the computer. And the installation alerts are likely to be the same. Like, the program is already installed. It is a matter of a pair of components that often stand by default on almost any version of Windows: the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (installer) and the Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable package. These are utility utilities that the installer tries to download, but is faced with the fact that they already exist.

There are several ways out of this situation:

  • removal of problematic components;
  • installation in a slightly different way.

A simple way would be to clean the utilities from Microsoft and reinstall them with Korel.

  1. Open the section "Programs and components" from the "Control Panel".
  2. Select the "Uninstall and change programs" tab.
  3. We find there a problematic component Microsoft .NET Framework (web installer) and then Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable package and remove them.

More difficult way: the changed installation of the program.

  1. Find the installation file. It must have the extension .exe.
  2. Unpack its contents into a separate folder (right click, “Extract to ...”).
  3. Download this file.
  4. Unpack it and replace it with the Redist folder. Of course, it is better, just in case, to save the replaced folder somewhere on the hard disk.
  5. Install again.

The downloaded archive contains a folder that is in the installer, but with some changes. Several files are replaced by similar, but empty ones: for example, NDP46-KB3045560-Web.exe, then NDP46-KB3045557-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe, and still vcredist_x32.exe, vcredist_x64.exe. This is done so that the system performs them and does not slow down, giving out alerts. If you can write the necessary exe-files yourself, then easily replace yourself with the ones mentioned above. After that, the installation passes without any difficulty.

Now you know how to install CorelDraw in different situations, and you can easily do it yourself. As you can see, everything is very simple, it is important to understand the reason why the system gives errors.
