Application Registry Editor

The following method is based on the registry editor, but it is recommended only to experienced users, because if you use the editor incorrectly, disable the computer OS. If you are unsure, before performing the steps to disable keyboard shortcuts through the registry editor, first create a system restore point to restore the state of the computer if necessary.

  3. Enter in the regedit line, press Enter.
  4. In the registry editor that started after the above actions, go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies.
  5. In Policies, by clicking on it with the right mouse button, you create an Explorer section. To do this, go through the "Create" - "Section", and then rename the new section. If this section in Policies is already there, just go to it.
  6. We click with the right button on Explorer, we create Parameter DWORD (32 bits).
  7. Name the parameter to the new one that was created, the name NoWinKeys.
  8. Right click on the created NoWinKeys, select "Edit".
  9. Enter the value "1", confirm with "OK".
  10. Close the window, restart the computer.

Thus, you will be able to disable functions that work with “Windows”, i.e. perform the procedure, the result of which will be similar to that described in the first method.

  7. Enter in a special line the characters used in those combinations that you want to delete. For example, if you want to turn off the Windows + R / E functions, type in the RE line.

If letters / numbers are not used in combinations, you need to enter a virtual code using the ASCII table of character codes. Thus, the Home key corresponds to the number 24, which according to this table is denoted by the symbol $. So, to disable the functions of Windows + R / E / Home in the line on the DisabledHotKeys type RE $.

  1. Reboot the computer.

The rest of the combinations used in versions 7, 8 or 10, except for those whose parameters you made, will continue to work as before, unchanged.

Deleting hotkeys, if necessary, can be done easily, but performing actions requires care and carelessness, because changes are made to the operating system and can damage it. Do not forget to create OS restore points before starting work, strictly follow the algorithm of actions, and you will succeed.
