In large documents it is often necessary to insert notes to the material.

What are notes like? These are small explanatory notes to a sentence, a word, a picture, which may contain a date or a reference to the source used. There you can specify any additional information that you consider necessary.

To insert a comment in the text, you must go to the "Review" tab. Define the word to which you want to add an explanation, and select it. In the toolbar, find and click the "Create Note" button. After that, the highlighted word will be marked in red, and a field with a small block will also appear in red on the right side of the window, in which you can leave any explanations, notes and other information. “D1” is indicated in square brackets; instead, you can enter other letters, signs or symbols that will be displayed next to the selected part of the text, indicating that there is an explanatory note to it. Often in square brackets indicate the signs “?”, “!” Or the number of the explanation.

If you have made many different comments on words or sentences, it will be more convenient to view and work with them in a special window. In the same Review tab, select the Scan scope item, which is located in the Record of Fixes block on the toolbar. In a small menu, specify where to display the corrected field - on the left or at the bottom. After that, you will see a complete list of all explanations. Clicking on any of them will move you to the appropriate section of the document. In the latest versions of Microsoft Word, there is a separate button for them, this window will not display corrections, but only comments. If you need to hide the field with notes, in the Review tab, in the Record of Fixes tool group, select Source Document from the list.

To remove an explanatory note, open the same window. Select from the list the note you would like to remove and click on it with the right mouse button. In the menu that opens, click on the item "Delete Note".
